The Lord's Prayer

In the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 11, we see that Jesus was praying with his disciples. On that day one of them asked, "Lord, teach us to pray." And so he taught them what almost all Christians have come to know and even memorize, The Lord's Prayer. It is one of the most commonly prayed prayers by people of all Christian faiths in both public and private worship.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
